Join us for another amazing day at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum on Sunday, October 27th. This is the last day of their Fall Meet, and it will be as splendid as ever! We‘ll be connecting with our friends in AROC San Diego, who have graciously offered an after party of early supper at one of their favorite local Italian eateries, or their vice president‘s backyard! Ongoing museum demonstrations include weaving, spinning, blacksmithing, woodworking, and corn and wheat milling. Exhibits include antique gas- and steam- powered engines, tractors and fire trucks from John Deere, Oliver, Farmall, Allis-Chalmers, Case, International Harvester, Holt, Best, Agri- Cat, Rumley, Aultman-Taylor, Cletrac, Minneapolis Moline, and more; a N scale model railroad, gas-powered clothes washing machines and ice cream churns, hit-and- miss engines and more examples of all of the above as brought in by the enthusiast collectors participating in the meet. The most eagerly anticipated part of the day is the noon parade of this machinery! We‘ll need a headcount, so RSVP to il Presidente at cobralfa65@yahoo.com Admission is $10. We‘ll meet at the gates when they open at 9 a.m. And a visit to the AGSEM website is helpful: https://agsem.memberclicks.net/october- antique-engine-tractor-show

“Viva Alfa Romeo” is the annual car show hosted by the Mid-Florida Alfa Romeo Owners Club. This gala event is for Alfa Romeos of all years, along with vintage Fiat automobiles. The purpose of this event is to strengthen the bonds of fellowship among all participating Alfistis and Fiatsis, to recognize those who strive to maintain autos of rare design or condition, and to provide a venue where we may display the virtues of our cars to the general public. The site we have chosen again is Market Street in the heart of downtown Celebration, Florida. The town has agreed to cordon off their main street for our show site. The Town of Celebration draws visitors from around the world. The location near Disney World is ideal for attracting a large number of spectators during the entire time of the exhibition. A welcome dinner will be held on Friday, November 1 in downtown Celebration, and discounted hotel rooms will be available to attendees.

The morning session is a driving school for enhancing driver skills and teaching car control/safety with an online classroom and driving exercises. There‘s a separate HPDE/Lapping event in the afternoon, with one group for Novice drivers over 18 years old who have participated in the morning car control clinic, and one for A Group drivers and Instructors. These two programs take place at Pacific Raceways in Kent on Sunday November 10th, 2024. The Car Control/Driver Skills course is designed for all drivers in any type of vehicle, and is proven to be particularly valuable for new and teen drivers, drivers with newly purchased vehicles, and any driver who feels unsure or nervous behind the wheel. The course is as fun as it is informative, so we welcome and encourage any/all drivers who would like to experience something new. It‘s open to all drivers with a valid Driver License and teens with a Learner Permit; no other driving experience or prerequisites are required. Invite your teenage* children, parents, friends/neighbors or coworkers to experience the art and skill of advanced car control! *NOTE: Car control clinic students under the age of 16 must have a valid Learner‘s Permit and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (not required to be in car during exercises but must remain on site). The afternoon HPDE/School event has two run groups, Group A for a small group of our regular Advanced drivers only and our participating instructors, and Group B for Novice drivers over 18 years old who have participated in the morning car control clinic. There is a combo registration for both morning and afternoon courses. All drivers for AM and PM events must have a valid WA Drivers License (must show original at check-in) and proper driver safety gear (helmet rental is available).
