For the May meeting, we‘ll enjoy a short drive to Seven Lakes Motor Sports in Arlington, where owner Mark Glenwood will give us a tour of the facilities. Meet at Starbucks, 1330 164th St. SW, Lynwood, WA, 98087 fat 9:30. Depart for a backroads drive to Arlington at 10. Or meet at the shop at 11. Optional lunch following the tour. Come out to the track to watch or participate in another high-speed driving experience. Previous track driving and HPDE experience is required. This is an event designed to provide member and non-member guests the thrill of driving in a spirited manner on a closed road course. Check in begins at 4 PM. Driver‘s meeting at 4:40. This year the NWARC tour will join the University Place Garden Tour on June 8, 2024. University Place is located west of Tacoma. We will meet at 10:00 am at the Curran House & Museum. I will plan a late lunch location following the tour. I recommend spending about 2.5 hrs for the tour. We can tour as a group or go on your own. All gardens are within 5 miles of each other. Addresses are only available the day of the tour, but I happen to know most of them and you won’t be disappointed. We will visit six lovely gardens to view with a variety of presentations including lovely views, landscaping, art work, containers, and plant collections. Enjoy a collection of species Rhododendrons, bask in beautiful sound views, experience how native plants can add to your garden, see how using containers can accent your garden, and get ideas to add for your own garden. Order tickets for $20.00 each at uphistoricalsociety.org before May 1. These pre-ordered tickets will be available at Will Call at the Curran House. After May 1, tickets are $25.00 and are available online or the day of the tour at the Curran House. This tour benefits the restoration of the Curran House and Museum. Recognized as a fine example of Modernism, the house was designed by Tacoma‘s Robert Billsbrough Price, and it exhibits advances in building materials in the post-World War II era. Join in the HPDE Lapping event at Pacific Raceways. Spectators can watch the cars being prepared in the paddock and see the different classes practice their high-speed lapping, while the rest of us enjoy socializing and burgers, brats and chips provided by the club. Join us for a fun summer drive featuring our Alfa spiders. All other cars are welcome to follow the participating spiders on a back roads drive north of Seattle heading to Mt.
