Whidbey Island Ferry Park and Ride
Sun, Jun 7, 2026 at 9:30 AM
The annual tour organized by garden expert Debi Schmid is always a wonderful chance to see gardens that are unique and inspiring. This year‘s tour will be on scenic Whidbey Island. Participants can take the 9:30 Mukilteo ferry, then meet in Clinton at the ferry Park and Ride lot. We‘ll gather there and begin the drive at 10:15. Tony and Debi will lead us on a drive to visit two private gardens, then drive to Useless Bay for a catered lunch. Lunch will be $22 per person, and please bring cash for the lunch. Then we‘ll head to Coupeville to visit two more gardens. Plan for an optional stop at Greenlake Farm for a wine tasting before returning to the ferry. Please RSVP to Debi: debischmid@yahoo.com or text her at 253-310-8015 so we have a correct count for parking and lunch.

Chapter president and expert tour developer Fred Russell has planned a drive to the national convention in Ogden, Utah. Departing from south of Seattle, we‘ll drive to the Portland area to meet up with AROO friends. Then the drive will follow the sort of great driving roads Fred is so adept at finding, through Oregon, Idaho, and Utah. With two overnight stops along the way and several restaurant breaks, the trip will be interesting and fun and there will be time to socialize and enjoy the scenery. The route will include many of the areas featured on the convention pre-drives. We will arrive in time for the convention welcome party in Ogden. Sign up and hotel registration details will be provided later.
